Purdue vs. Ohio State

after seeing this game, if anyone still thinks OSU is one of the two best teams in the country, they should have their head examined. the big 10 is SO overated, this year more than ever.

Overrated or not, they're 9-1.

When you have 3 or 4 top defenses in the THE NATION in one conference, it tends to make some low scoring games.

um, getting those games against Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, and Penn State sure help a defensive rating. check the point totals in the out-of conference games. good lord, 4 automatic wins in the 8 conference games? must be nice. even in the other teams (like Minnesota and Iowa) how many pro prospects are there at the skill positions? other than Lee Evans at Wisconsin, maybe none. MSU has a couple, but they are suck.

the 90,91,96,101, and 106 total offenses and 98,105,108, and 113 scoring offense. out of 117. yeah, look at all those skill players.

Maybe good defenses shut down the offenses. Nah, that would never happen. Oh, wait, teams with great D/good offenses won both the NCAA Division 1 championship, AND the Super Bowl last year against teams with lesser defenses/better offenses. Guess there might be something to that.

Dont forget that the Big Ten had the best win/loss ratio last year in the bowl games.

Offense wins games. Defense wins championships. Given the choice between a team with an offence that was guaranteed to score 50+ points per game or a team with a defense guaranteed to keep other teams to one touchdown or fewer I would take the team with the defense every single time.

oh well i hope Michigan can beat them

go Trojans

Ummm... OSU is 24-1 (14-0 last year, 10-1 this year) in the last two years. No one is lucky enough to win that many games on luck alone.

No one's saying they lucked their way to that many wins. But luck certainly helped you win quite a few of those. That's the ugliest 24-1 team I've ever seen. As it is for most people I'd imagine.

the Big 10 doesn't have any NFL prospects? Oh my....Iowa doesn't have any NFL prospects? How about the best O lineman in the country(Gallory), perhaps the best line prospect since Orlando Pace? Penn ST is certainly having a down year, but they have quite a few talented players as well...Michigan St has a top QB...Wisonsin has plenty of NFL prospects as well...I just checked one NFL draft website, and 15 of their top 100 players are from the big 10...Minnesota's TE, Wisc RB...and that didn't include any underclassmen, like Gamble., Braylon Edwards, etc...

Big 10 football doesn't tend to be the high-scoring gimmick offense stuff that you see in the Big 12 (Texas Tech anyone - ask them if they think Ohio St is any good)

24-1 in your last 25 games isn't lucky anymore....their style and conservative offense just result in some tight games.....their D line starts 3 NFL prospects - and last year they had a 4th in Peterson.....get over it if you don't like the big 10....the only conference that can argue it is better than the big 10 in football this year is the SEC., and that could go either way...Vanderbuilt is an auto-win, right? Kentucky? Miss St? Alabama this year - aren't they a lot like Penn St this year, a good program having a down year?

Show me a better conference, top to bottom....can't do it.
