Purdue University, webmail security

so... you can make as long as a password as you fvcking want, i think the actual limit is 16.

the webmail server only checks the first 8 char.

how retarded is that.

Sorry, just found this thread MIKE. I found this out to. My password is exactly 8 characters/numbers long(don't think I am giving anything away there 😉) and I found I can type

********IFVCKINGHATEPURDUESWEBMAIL

And it accepts it 🙂

Purdue and security...two words you don't find together often...

...unless the word "breached" is followed soon afterwards!

<---Purdue Alum

And you wonder why they are going to a policy where you have to change your password every month and you can never repeat passwords

So you go to Purdue HUH?

When I was a kid living in Carthage Ind. my Dad went there.

Want to go on a little treasure hunt?

While going to school at Purdue my Dad was the Minister at the First Christian Church in Carthage. We lived in a old Victorian house that was owned by the Church, it was on main street in Carthage (That's about all I remember, no address) but is was a VERY COOL OLD HOUSE! If you were to go to the Church, I'm sure they could point you to the house. Say the son of Robert Kendall who was the pastor there in the early 60's sent you!

Talking with my Dad several years ago he told me a interesting tale. There was a chandelier in the dinning room that he didn't care for so he replaced it with one he found to be more attractive and then he stored the old one up in the attic. Years later he realized that the one he took down was a Tiffany and it's worth BIG BIG money! Who knows, it may still be sitting somewhere up there in that dusty old attic!

Got a free weekend some time? Go check it out!

If you do. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get pictures of the house for my sister and I. We both LOVED that old house and would dearly love to have photos of it for reminiscent purposes. 🙂

I doubt it, I think its just them taking the responsibility for security of the systems and putting it in users hands.

I'll talk with my mother and see if she can remember the address of the house. It was a three story with lots of stained glass windows, a full basement, and a front porch with swing and wood box on it. It also had tiered brick (thingys) flanking the walk going up to the porch. I could draw the place from memory. Assuming of course I could draw... 😉
