UD4P is faster than ASUS P6T Deluxe overall, has 3-way CrossFire/SLI support, and adequate cooling for the IOH (X58 chipset/northbridge).

One big tip: stay away from MSI X58 series boards (X58 Pro-E, X58M, X58 Platinum). Their IOH cooling is completely useless. I had one once, got rid of it in two days after finding out that my northbridge idled at 80C. It's not just me, it's wide spread, and MSI didn't address the issue properly at all, not even today. Sure the board has good performance and OC capability, but it also has this huge flaw. Here, here, here, and here are some proofs for just how wide spread the problem is.

My IOH idles at 65C. The PRO-E introduced better heat sinks and onboard audio for the same price so they did address the issue (although I never had a problem with mine). Maybe your case ventilation is bad. It could also be that because I'm using the stock Intel cooler, the surrounding components are cooled.

The ASRock X58 Extreme I bought from Newegg had a dead memory channel. They also appeared to have every intention of re-selling it.

You know, this really pisses me off. Those A-****S know there's something wrong with a lot of the open box stuff and they feed it right back to people. Then they give you a hassle when you have to return it. Then there's the hole rebates BS - you have to fight to get your money back. WTF? Then there's their own brand name stuff, Rosewell at Newegg and the crap they sell at Best Buy under their house name. I was looking for a power supply recently and the Rosewell stuff is absolute Horse S*** and they know it. The power supply felt like it had feathers inside, it was so light.

They're just money grubbing slime making a fortune off people who are ill-informed or simply have no time to spend hours getting up to speed on stuff. It's really infuriating!

Rant off.

Who's to say you won't end up with a bad memory channel on a different board?

They now are 159$ free shipping at New Egg.

Anytime you buy computer parts you risk buying something that may be defective. I've bought a few Gskill memory kits and i think 2 or 3 of them were bad kits.

I personally have been running the dfi board for 3 months now and out of the 3 x58 boards ive had its by far my favorite..runs cool and hits 4ghz with no problem on my do/920...im a temp nut and this board excells at cool temps...I know dfi can be troublesome at times but this board is rock solid at least for me...
