I was thinking about going with a new set that would be wireless since my current set was constantly getting tangled in my chair and I ended up ripping the USB from the wire...

I dont really wanna spend more than $75 and was wondering what if anyone had any brand or model to recommend

Thanks

I got the G930 for my dad for christmas and it is a very impressive wireless headset. Its $135 so a bit more then you want to spend but sounds amazing and has a great range and features.

i was on the fence for a long time trying to decide on a surround headset vs. wireless vs. a decent set of headphones and a clip on mic.

the decent phones and clip on mic won. went with some jvc rx700. still don't regret it.

If $75 is the budget, I wouldn't touch wireless. You get much more for your money when going wired. Cord tangling with the chair can be pretty much entirely eliminated. Just attach the cord to the desk or elsewhere so it can't droop low.

I have the 930 in a room with a htpc and they are great. Battery lasts long enough for my gaming needs but a wow addict would emo rage quit in a raid if their batteries ran out..

I also have a plantronics wired game commander I think the name is. Decent sound for a 45 dolla set..

My friends all swear by the Tritton 720 or Tritton Pro headsets, and they know what they're talking about. I use my home theater for sound but if I didn't I would probably be using the 720's.

at that price i'd prob just grab a senn pc151.

This, absolutely. I have gone through so many mics on the pc and this one has not only lasted but has provided quality sound both input and output and is affordable to boot.

I happened to come across a set of Plantronics GameCon 777's on ebay that someone bought for their PS3 and decided they didnt want to buy all the rest of the connectors to hook it up.

Snagged it for just over $43+free shipping! Retails for $100+shipping!

Dolby 7.1 w/ the included sound card and all the reviews are pretty good.

No experience with Plantronics but all the reviews can't be bad! :)

Came with a refund if I'm not happy. Will post back after I use them.

I have the 720's that I use for my PS3 and they're pretty good except the bass is downright horrible. It gets staticy when there's any decent bass going through and they're not super comfortable but still pretty good.

For PC I use Creative Sound Blaster Arena and they have great sound quality and the mic is great as well.

I use the Senhaiser HD 201, very good, has zero bass booster and extremely low noise. I used to have normal gaming headphones and my ear gets tired after listening to all the bass boosting, with the 201, no problem and it's great for listening to music. High fidelity.
