Hello,

I am badly in the market for a new video card. I do not do any 3D gaming on this box. It is mainly used for software development, web browsing, etc. Also, I do use Photoshop and occasionally 3D Studio on it (but mainly Photoshop).

It would be nice to be able to watch television on it as well, but it is certainly not a necessity (I can buy an additional card for that later, I guess).

I just want a REALLY good looking card for day to day graphics, and Photoshop (and a little 3D Studio)

Can someone recommend a good card that costs no more than $100?

Thanks in advance!

A Matrox G450 or G550 would be the best choice ever in image quality for Photoshop, but might kind of suck for 3dsmax due to its 3D performance lacking. A built-by-ATI Radeon for about $100 would still have pretty good 2D image quality, and probably also make your 3dsmax experience a little more bearable.

Thanks for the info,

I was looking at the G450/G550. Really, the only thing that stopeed my was that I really did not need the dual output. I have a Matrox card now, which is about 5 years old now!

Do any of the Matrox cards have a TV input?
