Okay, here's the situation. I need to install 2 copies of WinXP Pro on the computers at my newly formed business. I want this to be legal so I need two valid licenses for these OS's.
I have a retail copy of the WinXP Pro ugrade edition that I bought for my home computer. Since I have a disc and don't really need more physical copies of said disc I ideally wanted to save a few dollars and just purchase 2 additional licenses for the work machines.
However, from some initial browsing it seems that most of the licenses out there are for the OEM version of XP, which I assume is different from the retail I have and the keys in question will not work.
So what is my best option? As a new and small business we don't have tons of moeny to throw around for software, but we do want to be legal. It seems that purchasing an OEM version of XP and the two keys would be an option, but from some searching here I see the OEM version is tied to a specific computer, and as a start up the computers we currently have are cobbled together and likely to be replaced fairly soon. So just bite the bullet and buy to retail XP Pro's, or is there a better option?
Thanks.
