Purchasing a new monitor - need advice

It's tax season, and like SO many others, that means the bug has bitten me. This year, I've decided to upgrade my Dell 2405FPW. It's been an amazing monitor, but I'd like to go with a 120 Hz monitor.

Budget - I'll also be adding a second 6950 in crossfire and a Blueray drive. Out of my limit of $1000, this leaves ~$600 for a monitor.

Beyond this, I'm totally open to suggestions. I had no idea that monitors had changed so much, and to be honest, I feel a bit lost. I can, however, list a few features I'd like to have:

*3d capability (see note at bottom)
*120Hz
Prefer 1920x1200, but I could settle for 1080p in a 27'
would like to go 27", but open to 24" for the right monitor

Panel type - no clue. It seems like I read all kinds of different things about panel types, and I really don't know which one applies to my needs.

I mostly play non-FPS type games, but I do watch a LOT of media including DVDs, netflix, and various series shows on my computer.

These are a few monitors I've been considering:

Samsung S27A750D http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001474

Acer HN274 27" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009300

*I realize my limitations with 3D (given my ATi setup) especially with the Acer monitor, and as a result, I'm not necessarily locked into 3D. If it's just impractical to go with a 3D monitor at this time, I had also considered a Dell Ultrasharp u2410.

You guys on these forums have never let me down, so I'll thank you in advance for all the help.

After careful thought and consideration, I've pretty much decided to go with another Dell monitor, or at least I'm now leaning heavily in that direction.

I'm basically looking at the u2410 or the u2412m.

All things considered, I think the 2412 might be the way to go. I don't do any graphical work of any kind, and I most likely won't use the HDMI port either.

Major differences as I can tell are response time, brightness, black level, and color gamut, so my main questions now for anyone with experience using these is, will I notice the lack of colors on the 2412? Also, as stated above, I rarely do any FPS type gaming, but I do watch a lot of media. Is the extra 2ms response time worth the increased cost?

Overall, at least for my needs, I have to say that the 2410 isn't worth the extra money. Am I missing something here or am I on the right track?

Only monitors that support 120Hz are TN panels. Personally, I can't stand TN panels due to their color shifts at off-angle viewing (even bad enough that if you have a 24inch monitor, the colors at the edges will be funky due to the viewing angles being off alignment enough that it will discolor).
