Was about to bite the bullet on a Mazda 3 (new) however, I got a Pontiac G6 (2006 w/30k miles) with an already (transferred) 100k bumper to bumper warranty, it is the GT, V6 fully loaded, and out the door for 14,995 (after tax and everything)

Did I mention %2.9 financing as well, yah they had 2 left of these cars (Certified Used) and they needed to go yesterday. So they marked them down considerably.

Seems like a fair price, though the mileage is kinda high - I wonder if they were leased cars turned in early or something? The G6 seems like quite a shift from your initial pick, but as long as you like it . . .

If you are happy with the car and the price you paid, then you "did good". Nothing else matters.

Enjoy your new ride!!

You did great, it's a nice car for that price. How long do you plan on keeping it? Speaking from a lot of experience (Pontiac, GM, Buick, etc) .. it'd probably be a good idea to sell it at around 100-120k miles, while everything still works and is intact. Seems that most domestic cars (and
Mazda/Mitsubishi/Hyundai as well) start to get crappy around that mileage. Some drivetrains will last a long time, like the 3800s and the 350s, but the rest of the car will turn to poo on you.

Hey, if I could afford a Honda or Toyota I would own one. Alas, I cannot. I'm stuck with these.

i hope you're being sarcastic, considering the GTO and vette are 06 and 07 models

Well, the GTO and Vette are both enthusiast vehicles that will hold their value well as long as they don't get too many miles/wear and tear on them. There's nothing wrong with a domestic car per se as long as they are properly maintained (as is true with any decent vehicle).

I think he's being more sarcastic than anything, if my sarcasm meter isn't broken :)

It's somewhat ignorant to say 'import good/domestic bad' or vice versa as a blanket statement.

I thought AT was the Mazda3 and BMW 3-series enthusiast board? Haha.

Yes OP, great purchase. The price is right for that car, especially with the warranty, mileage, and trim level. Tell me you have the panoramic roof? I want a G6 with that, but I don't think it's on the current models.

The 3.5L in there is a pretty robust little motor. Amazing gas mileage for a V6 and it actually has decent spunk to it for highway passing. The G6 is a sharp looking car. For the money you paid and with the warranty included that's a great value. I'd say you did great.

I will agree with most, great pick up. Did you get it at a dealer or private?

Should have that gm roadside assistance, in case anything does happen.

LOL... I wouldn't be laughing if I didn't think you were kidding. You're the one with a Corvette and GTO correct?

By the way...it sounds like you did great. The Mileage seems a little high...but the car should be great for you.
