OK, I need some opinions here. I'm planning on buying a new video card to last for several months until I eventually upgrade my entire system. I'm looking for something that will give me good performance on my current computer and not choke after I upgrade to a faster system. I need something that will also give me the best performance for my money. So my question is, should I go with a Kyro II, a GeForce2 MX, or perhaps something entirely different?

Radeon LE.
Flash the Bios, and you have a full featured radeon 32 Mb ddr for 68 bucks.
the Kyro II has no T&L, which is actually starting to be utilized.

I have owned a Kyro II and a GF2MX. Currently using the kyro. SS284 is correct about the T&L starting to be implemented. However, on most benchmarks the Kyro II will destroy a GF2MX, e.g. Mercedes truck racing, Serious Sam, Quake 3, Unreal Tournament at resolutions of 800x600 and above. Of course, the Kyro II is processor limited, which is where you are dead meat. Hardware T&L is your buddy if you're stuck with an AMD K6-2/3. Steve, I gotta agree with you on this one. Go for the Radeon.

if you got a fast cpu, get a Kyro 2. Hardwired T&L will be very limited for future games and most games the cpu will be able to handle it, also, the Radeon T&L engine is not as good as the GF2 T&L. I had a Radeon 64mb, I replaced it with a Kyro 2, the Kyro 2 smokes it.

I just read your system. You are gonna be very cpu limited no matter what card you have.

You should forget about the GF2 MX as it's pretty much obsolete. If you're on a tight budget, get the Radeon LE. If not, get a Kyro2 or a GF2 GTS/Pro. Personally I would get the Pro.

Where can I see something about flashing the LE's BIOS? I read the AnandTech article over the LE, but it only told about overclocking and HyperZ enabling. It only mentioned vaguely something about memory timings in the BIOS.

Edit: I seem to get LE and VE mixed up.
