need to know which of the following 2GB (1x2GB) RAM sets would overclock the best and be stable w/ a DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D, a 3000+ Venice, and an XFX 7800GT OC'ed @ 450/1050.

And I also want to know if 2GB is worthit or not.

Anyways:

Crucial Ballistix PC4000 (DDR500) 2x1GB:

Tell me which is best for:

1. overclocking
2. best timings
3. best price/performance ratio
4. best overall

I've read somewhere that corsair and nf4 don't like eachother? confirm?

Thinking of the 2x512 corsair XMS 3200 for my opty144 (it's only 99 at the egg right now)
i could just keep my valueselect but it only goes to like 210 or so I think the XMS will go 250? confirm?

go for 1gb unless you are really multi-tasking, workstation, or have to play BF2 at insane levels..
save the $$ for more bottle neck bang/buck like a better HD or a dual core opty..

2. best timings At stock or OC? Stock, whichever one has lowest timings (I hear Ballistix can do 2-2-2 @ DDR500 with enough voltage). OC'd, I'd say its pretty standard for all to be at 3-3-3
3. best price/performance ratio These
4. best overall Depends what you value more: money or performance
BTW, all your links are FUBAR'd

I disagree. 2GB can make a sizeable diff in game smoothness with most any modern game. Its also nice in Windows, esp if you multitask.

You already have a 7800GT which is the best bang for the buck video card out there. The only upgrade you might make is to a dual core, but realistically if you don't have a specific usage for it then it is a bit better value to wait. Once M2 comes out, hopefully S939 dual core prices will drop.

Nice setup all around. Just make sure you get a decent PSU.

Also, have you thought about a single core Opteron? They're harder to find, but almost all OC nicely and hopefully they aren't too price gouged...

Links fixed. I wish I had gone for an Opteron 144 Socket 939, but it's too late. I'm stuck with the Venice for a long time now.
