the prices will always drop. What are you waiting for? I decided to splurge and picked up my 42" Plasma for $360. I'll buy a 50" Plasma when they're under $1k

what is your budget for buying a TV? find a tv in that budget. buy. prices are always going to fall.

I am personally waiting for 37-42" tv's w/ tuner's to drop down to like $500

I would go for a slightly larger TV. If you have $700-$800, you may be able to get a larger or better TV for not much more money and some sharp eyes looking for deals.

i realize prices will always drop, but the LCD/plasma prices have gone down about 30-40% in the last 3-4 months alone. i'm asking if this trend will continue, or will the drops stabilize to about 10-20% every 6 months like normal technology.

There is no such thing as a 1080i LCD TV.

There are 720p LCDs and there are 1080p LCDs.
