As you can tell from the urls her name is daisy. ( her registered name is corgi porgi puddn and pie..my wifes idea.) She is my first dog ever. Shes a good dog and very smart, but they were right to tell you about chew toys. i cant tell you how many pairs of shoes she has eaten. especially leather ones. . When she was a baby, the first time we left her alone for a day, she clawed and chewed up a 2 week old sofa. :| (she hasnt done anything that catastrophic since.) Corgis are also notorious for stealing things. They take it to ''their spot''. Anytime something comes up missing in the house, we check her spot, outside the doggy door in the back yard, and its usually there, partially chewed. All in all though shes a great dog. You will be glad you picked that breed.
that last pic is my fav. we lived in an above ground house at the time with air vents on the floor, and she came in one hot summer day after playing, and just plopped down on the vent and stretched out her feet. ive seen a few corgis sleep like that. anyway, good luck. :thumbsup:
Edit: oh yea..we crate trained ours. It was very tedious, but worth it. The only problem was having her alert us that she had to go. So we put in a dog door and never looked back. she knows when she has to go and goes out on her own. heres a pic of her in the rabbit cage we used for a crate. She always slept on her back!

I have three young kids and I wanted to give him a safe place to go that they weren't allowed, so I think the crate is working well. All in all I'm ecstatic at how smart he seems, I had only owned cocker spaniels before and I don't konw if it's a breed thing, but this little guy seems lots quicker.... I loved my spaniels as a kid though.

Well he's doing great and really fitting in. Crate training is working really well. He's had one accident since last update but he's back on track now.... he even will come to his name and sit.. and is getting better at both all the time.. I'm really pleased. He's a great dog, no trouble at all.
One thing though, he doesn't really like ANY of the Nylabones or other heatlhy chew toys including a kong.. but he absolutely LOVES a little rawhide bone my sister-in-law brought over... I KNOW it's bad, they can ingest it and develop blockages, so what should I get him instead?

I have a 4 month old golden retriever as well. Lots of work, lots of patience, but they are really wonderful animals. Smart and fun!

Bought it before he arrived based on reviews and advice... It is a GREAT product and works perfectly.
I bought a hambone from Target today, is that any better than rawhide?
