No doubt..despite possible good intentions, the protesters are indeed "useful idiots" in the historical sense.

protesters and organizers come from a wide range of social and political backgrounds. we don't all agree on everything, and we don't have to. what's important is we agree on this topic. i could care less if someone who bankrolled a protest is a marxist or a fascist or whatever. just because we all happen to agree on something doesn't mean we're "controlled" by each other. some people who dislike abortion are also racists. but if you dislike abortion, that doesn't make you controlled by racists anymore than someone who protests war is controlled by communists or "anti-government" people.

gotta laugh at who the pro-war people will call "anti-goverment." according your own definitions, most of you would be anti-government, too, just for different policies. you can't be selective in how you apply that term.

and string pulling? need we bring up the administrations ties to the energy crisis/scandal? and isn't it convenient how everyone forgot all about it when bush started putting pressure on iraq? anyone seen wag the dog?

i don't really want to get into it, because we've all beaten the hell out of all these subjects before on this board. but i'm just saying that anything you say about either side can be applied with equal force to the other, so don't get all high and mighty and think you've found a trump card.

I respect those folks who are legitimately for peace. The problem is, you also have these protestors who are literally willing to deal with the devil to get their point across. You can't seriously tell me that you don't look at the people some of the protestors associate with and say, "Hmm." Associating with groups like the WWP damages their credibility.
