Punishment for a despicable post?

This thread was a real eye opener to a very disgusting and terrible act. I know that this is the internet, where people will use their anonymity to say dumb crap, but this is getting ridiculous. In this thread, as you can find on the first page, Taejin says that this girl was "owned." Obviously this is nothing even close to warrant a permban, but could some kind of small punishment be brought upon him? If you start punishing him now instead of doing nothing, it will prevent him from doing or saying something later on that might result in a perm-ban.

Thank-you.

There's a lot worse said here.

Should that be an excuse to allow others to still talk this way?
If the person wants to broadcast out to others what a moron he is I think the scorn of members like you should be punishment enough.

...or just the attention that he is seeking.

Shit happens.

you're an idiot.

How do you figure? She fucked up, and she paid the price. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that's any kind of deserved punishment, but I'm sure she'll think twice before breaking the law a second time. A little slap of harsh reality.

So we ban under the premise of the personal attack rule but won't ban under the premise of common decency? Surely you can't think Taejin's comment was anywhere near decent.

I agree with the bans given in that thread but can't for the life of me understand why Taejin isn't banned as well.

Similar situation: someone posts about their parent/friend dying, Taejin posts "owned /thread." Would you ban then? I don't see any difference in that case and what actually happened.

The difference is one's a member of our community and the other isn't. Hey I think he's being a real wanker for posting what he did but it's not against the rules to be a low life worthless POS with no redeeming value to humankind. The way I see it it's his burden to bare.

Some other Mod may see it different and that's his/her perogative.

Jesus some of you people are whiney. Was it the single greatest post ever? No. Does it merit getting your panties in a bunch? Clearly not. Go post on sunshinebunniesandhappykitties.com if you're that offended by a one-word reply.

Adults? You children are getting all huffy about a post on an internet message board that wasn't all that bad to begin with. I guess it's also possible you're simply really, really old. That would also go along with this whole outraged attitude you've got going on.

Good grief, do I really need to post an explanation why this thread is locked?
