Enron.... ummm.... :):):)

Nah, never happen here. Argument would pretty much consist of "Well, capital punishment hasn't done much to deter murders"

In recent events, I find that white collar criminals do more damage than any convicted murder, serial killer ever could.

They should not be killed. Instead, they should be put in standard detention facilities to serve out their time, indefinitely.

guys..corporate America runs sh*t and we know that. the likelihood of prosecuting the people who fuel the economy, contribute to the campaigns of the legislators and influence every aspect of our lives is slimmer than one of those anorexic models. but before we jump to pointing fingers at the private sector, id like to point out, as did Elliot Spitzer in a speech at my school ( binghamton university) that nonprofit orgs and govt agencies have had equal amounts of corruption within the past decades.

Death for you!

Considering the eighth amendment, and the supreme court rulings of '72 and '76, it is impossible to have a death penalty sentence on anything but murder with aggravating circumstances. Even then theres still multiple constitutional questions about the death penalty. Cases are working their way through the court system, and well it if hit the Supreme Court, they would likely declare the death penalty unconstitutional again(O'Conner the swing vote has openly questioned the constitutionality of the death penalty).

i just wish they would put those people in jail.

i cant believe those a-holes at Enron are still free. that makes me sick. you know when/if they get sentenced they will get a few years of probation and community service. heck a person buying pot can get longer time in jail then they will!
i think they should get one year for every thousand dollars they have stolen. then also have to repay every penny they stole. even it means selling there wifes house etc.

Yah--I don't think death penalty is appropriate for white-collar crime, but it's interesting to see how other countries' justice system works. In a poor country like Vietnam, I suppose such a crime is up there with murder. Then again, there're all those uber-corrupt 3rd world countries.
