Pumpkin Pie!

My roommate bought a pumpkin and wants to make pumpkin pie from scratch, but neither of us have a clue how to.

Any recipes or links?

Thanks for the link. I've already dug through most of those and they all want Canned Pumpkin pie filling. We have the damn pumpkin, how do we cook this bad boy up?

Here is my own personal recipe for Pumpkin Pie from scratch.

-1 pie crust (I sometimes like to live life on the edge and use a graham cracker crust)
-2 cups pumpkin puree (put it in the food processor or blender)
-3/4 cup sugar
-1 tsp. ground cinnamon
-1 tsp. flour
-1 tsp. nutmeg
-2 eggs
-1 cup evaporated milk
-2 tsp. water
-1 tsp. vanilla extract
-pinch of salt

Mix everything well and stir it up real nice. Pour into pie crust.

Bake @ 400 deg. for 15 minutes

Continue to bake it, but at 350 deg. for 30 minutes.

Insert a toothpick, and if it comes out without a lot of gunk on it, it?s done. Let it sit a few hours to settle.

You can toss in some other spices, leave some out, etc. Taste it before it goes into the pie crust to make sure it tastes good.

Enjoy!
