Soo - we went to this church today that was having a huge "pumpkin patch" sale on their front lawn - they must have had 500+ pumpkins.

I found two that I liked - they're so big that I can barely put my arms around them  They were 15 bucks each - not bad for their size :)

I can't wait to carve them - so fun :p

My kids used to love that, including then designing very elaborate jack-o-lanterns that I had to carve, but sadly they are too old to get excited about Halloween now.

I pass a dozen places along the road which sell pumpkins. I've stopped at a couple and have looked to find the perfect pumpkin, but they're all too small so far.

got a couple of the rascles last night trying to sneak through the back yard.
mr. mossberg 12 gauge took care of them quite nicely. now maybe the rest of their friends will think twice about leaving the garden and heading towards the house!

For the first time last year, I tried one of those pumpkin carving kits. I had my doubts, but, what the hell. It just might work. Hell, it did work. I had more fun with it. Carved up some nice ones too. Bought a similiar carving kit, it had some different tools in it.

Can't wait to get started this year. :)

Anyone do anything with the seeds? I have before in the past, washed them really well, spray with with a touch of oil, salted them, then baked, pretty good too. Love them hot out of the oven.

How's come you didn't grow any?
I have a few monsters out in the side garden and a whole bunch of little ones.
I put in some "Jack Be Littles"and some pie pumpkins, they're little squatty guys. They're real low water and Kelly Jo makes the most awesome scratch pumpkin pie in the universe. :D
