Ahhh, the idiocy of youth + alcohol. With violence like in Ferguson, I can't at least understand the sentiment behind it - rage over someone getting killed (even if he was an idiot and assaulted a cop) seems to be more appropriate than rioting because you're favorite team won, or a traditional festival being too boring.

If smacking people with whiskey bottles or flipping cars is your idea of fun, I have absolutely no sympathy for you meeting the business end of a baton. Or the 4 legged portion of a K9 unit. Life's hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

The older I get the more I realize how damaging alcohol is to people and society as a whole. One of the main reasons I no longer partake of the sauce.

I've learned where you partake is more important than what you drink. But, I applaud people who've learned that drinking is bad for their life and stop. There are many who shouldn't drink as there are many who shouldn't drive, own firearms or, breathe my air.

Sure, I can agree with that for the most. But I do think there is an appreciable difference between the effects of drinking say 2 or 3 light beers, compared to 2 or 3 Long Island Ice Teas, or maybe some of those damn Hand Grenades from NOLA. Especially for females. Location and company def plays a role though, no argument here.

"There are many who shouldn't drink as there are many who shouldn't drive, own firearms or, breathe my air. "

Heh.

For folks whose personality changes for the worse after drinking, what they're drinking doesn't matter because they won't stop after "2 or 3 light beers." With regards to judgement, folks who indulge in risky environments are impaired way before the alcohol hits their system.

Would these "kids" (they're adults) be considered thugs for destroying their town like this?

Should the police gather up all their scary looking equipment and restrain these "kids"?

,.. because what will stop a whisky bottle from hitting a cop in the face??

Oh yeah, they don't need gear to protect themselves, because:
1) wearing that gear is what probably spooked the rioters, and
2) they should be able to just dodge the flying whisky bottle

Oh was that equipment present here? I certainly didn't see any police in camo carrying assault rifles.

Once again you make up a false reality to use to comment against (this really is becoming your trademark routine). When did I state the police brought out their scary looking equipment? I was asking an opinion question. You can respond "yes, I believe they should," or you can respond "No, I believe they should not."

Never to the eyes of many here. Other acceptable activities where property destruction does not make one a thug...

hockey games
surfing tournaments
firing a football coach

Rioting over the death of an unarmed citizen.....thugs!

Meh, I've never been opposed to firing tear gas into crowds of white rioters.

At least in places like Ferguson, they're rioting for an understandable reason.

These white idiots that riot and destroy millions of dollars of property over their team winning the Superworld Cup Bowl should be treated like the animals they are.

"Animals"???!!!! They are just young kids filled with testosterone and booze. I guess an uptight square like you never had a normal college experience and so can't relate.

They should obviously be punished but their lives should not be ruined.
