Pretty interesting article
Seems pretty cool, some guy's geo metro got an 8% increase in overall efficiency, though its geared for hybrid cars.

Will this kill my automatic tranny? Shifting to neutral and back to gear cant be all that good... I have an 07 Passat.

Flipping between Drive and Neutral constantly on an automatic trans will not be good for it.

Not only that, but switching off the engine in most cars disables power assist to the steering and brakes, on some cars it also turns off the brake light circuit, on most cars it locks the steering wheel...

Overall, dangerous.

Sounds stupid, and would only be beneficial in a car that is geared too short, ala Mexican overdrive.

you can afford a car that new, but are seeking to save ~$100 a year on gas, at the possible detriment of your transmission and/or entire car. think about it for a second
