Pulling the HSF Off Without Killing The CPU

I have a AMD x64 with Artic Silver Ceramique on it, but that stuff is sticky, so I know this HSF is not going to come off easy.

What is a easy way to get the HSF off the chip without killing it?

THANKS

Twist, point a hairdryer at it for a bit if it's not coming off easily, or try to insert a razor or credit card into a crack...

Be gentle.

Let the CPU run some stress test to get it hot, then when it's turned off gently twist an turn the HSF.

Be sure that it's not thermal glue you've applied 😉

yep

let the puter get nice n warm , then pop the case, undo the HSF and a gentle twist and pull should bring it off nice n easy

be sure to pick the HSF up with some sort of oven glove.

It's an A64, not a friggin' Prescott. 😉
