Pulling an all nighter. :(

I'm stuck working tonight.....

Transferring about 200GB across the network to a SAN. I kicked it off 2 hours ago, but it's failed 4 times in the middle of the transfer and I've had to start over. It sucks. Wish me luck, I'm probably going to be doing this copy for quite a while and I can't walk away for too long.

Studying some medical physiology followed by neurobiology .. it'll be this with maybe 2-3 hour sleep breaks until my exams are over on Monday after 1530.

The occasional beer is keeping me calm tho .. Enjoying a nice Weyerbacher Pumpkin now, started with a Young's Double Chocolate Stout. I feel that Trois Pistoles is coming up next!

True, but this stupid thing keeps failing....and I have to kick it off every 5 minutes to make it continue. I'm only at 58GB. This is going to take forever at the rate it's going. Sheesh.

I think I may have tracked down a possible cause. (Only took me 4 hours) It's going a little faster now. I just hope it doesn't go back to what it's been doing since 1am. I'll be sleeping Sunday with the NFL Sunday Ticket going.

I'm on the mid shift right now, but it's my weekend. I've been up all night playing my newly purchased xbox360 and setting up my media server with it. Played some Halo 3 and about 1/3 of the way through HL2. Also, downloading several GBs of demos...that haven't failed.

hm....pulling a 24hr work day and then having to wake up 4hrs later because someone needs something and doesnt know where it is. that sucks...bear with it man, get some caffeine or something.

I'm happy that I don't have to go to sleep tonight. I'll save my Ambien CR for during the week. If I had to do some long file copying, I'd either remote into the box or use www.logmein.com for it. I'm currently configuring syncs on my U3 USB thumb drive, and then it is off to start studying for College Algebra.

Yeah...I was working over the VPN and doing the copy through an IPKVM using a dos command prompt. The file system wasn't windows though... It took almost 9 hours and I was constantly having to watch it. There are fairly large number of directories that didn't make the copy, so I get to go back and try to figure out which ones and why...so after working 10 hours yesterday and doing this for 9 hours (since midnight)....I'm going in for a few hours to finish the job.

Luckily, I'll be taking some flex time next week to make up for this. It's going to be a loooong weekend next week.
