Pulled the trigger on a new car yesterday. I've been searching for the past month, and after weighing all of the advice on here (new vs. used, my wants vs. needs, etc) I decided to go with a new vehicle and re-affirmed that the Cherokee was the one I wanted.

2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4x4
3.2L V6 w/ Active Drive II, "Off-Road Suspension"
Billet Silver
Trailer Tow Group (<4500#)
Cold Wx Group (Heated seats, steering wheel, heated mirrors, remote start)
Convenience Pkg (Passive Entry, Power Seats, Power Liftgate)
8.4" Touchscreen & Upgraded speaker package

Total out the door was $33k, with down payment and incentives total financed was $26k @ 1.79% for 60mo.

Pics to follow.

So far it's great. Smooth ride, quiet on the inside, nice power when I put my foot down, pretty good handling compared to my civic, and the control b/c of the touchscreen is awesome,

Those headlights take some getting used to. Its either a love/hate, no 'meh' at all on those things. 23.5 mpg isn't great, but for the size of the vehicle it isn't bad at all.

I had my first excursion in it last night/today. Drove to the dropzone last night after watching a buddy play in a couple of beer league hockey games. Folded down the rear seats, pulled out the sleeping pad and mat and slept in it. I was able to stretch out for the most part (5'11).

Averaged 24.5mpg on it over a 300mi round trip. Some stop and go, 50-70mph cruise. Great car thus far.

Fricken love these cars, the headlights really set it off for me. I can tell one coming a mile away. And the Limited/Trailhawk models are both cut above the others in their own way. Can't wait to see the pics.

I like the headlights

That steering wheel looks like it's from a Tesla, nice and thick, how's it feel?

Feels pretty good. I find myself liking it a lot more than the one I had in my Civic. Then again, the texture feels better and the fact that it's heated is nice too.

Towed the boat with it today. The boat weighs in at about 2,000# and the ramp I was pulling it out of the water at had a pretty steep incline. No problem for the Cherokee. Mileage was in the middle to high teens. I also folded down the back seats and the front passenger seat to put all the boat/fishing stuff in the back.

I love having a vehicle that can tow and carry stuff!

Finished my move up to Buffalo, NY yesterday. 919 miles with an average of 25.9mpg. I'm a little skeptical of that reading since the EPA estimate says 26mpg for this model on the highway with the equipment that it has and I was going up and down mountains and some city driving with it.

It really depends. Were you using AC? Were you really hammering the throttle? Chances are you did get some decent mileage...but of course YMMV until you know how accurate the display is. I find the one in the CR-Z to be very accurate. The one in my previous Subaru was optimistic but that could also be because I reprogrammed the ECU.

No point in worrying about the mileage now. The engine is still breaking in.

IIRC, very few people have gotten a Cherokee to go into 9th gear... :D

I love jeeps but the new ones look so ugly imo. Looks like a Buick rendezvous on steroids. Made it look like a crossover to much.

My friend just bought a Cherokee, too. It's a latitude 3.2L 4X4.

Only major complaint...can't turn the radio off. Can only be temporarily muted.
