Question Pull album information in Media Player

Always worked fine for me, but when I tried recently it no longer worked. A few searches on the error showed that MicroSlop in their infinite quest for world domination stuck it to us again and disabled that feature.

Yeah, yeah, I know, don't use 7 or earlier .... screw that.

Those same searches hinted at being able to change the service provider that Media Player uses but didn't offer alternatives, so I'm seeking ideas there as to who to try.

I like Media Player, but it has a few other issues being the dinosaur that it is. I may consider other Media Players that are similar. I've tried VLC and don't really care for it. I have a few thousand tracks and a number of playlists using 'auto' criteria, so any replacement would need to offer similar.

But so far, I'd really rather stay with what I have and find another music match service.

As a big user of WMC (and Media Player) I've come to the painful realization that MS is trying to kill it off... permanently. Like you, I don't care for VLC, but I haven't found anything I like as much as WMC, either.
