I was wondering about this, I just moved to Florida from NY (where publix doesn't exist) and am about to buy an X2 4400+, eVGA 7800GTX, and the Dell 2405FPW display all for $1,300 for this guy who lives a few hours from me in florida now. He says he wants a down payment on them so he's sure that I'm buying them because he has to return them by wednesday (tomorrow). They were supposed to be all for his brother, but he bought some kind of apple instead...kind of weird but that's what he claims. All the items are wrapped and the monitor is still in the dell box. He is away on business until friday, so he wants a down payment. Theres a form of some sort inside publix or something... Anyone who knows about Publix --- Is this true? I'm only asking this here because I just moved to florida for school, and I have no idea where publix is around me. He told me it's in publix and it's very easy to use. If anyone knows what I'm talking about or has USED what I'm talking about PLEASE respond.
 
Yes it exists in Florida. In fact, I see videos from around the US and dont think I have ever seen one outside of Florida.
 
i know that publix is a common grocery store that i used to go to frequently when i lived in florida, but i don't know what in the world that has to do with any sort of down payments. i'm assuming your mileage may vary.

SERIOUS question. I lived in florida before too and went to Publix and Alberstons and stuff and could NEVER find a case of pop!!! Only freaking 12 packs. What is the deal?
 
That price sounds too good to be true. So the guy can return the items and and presumably get full price, but he wants to sell them to you at some outrageous discount, why? I wouldn't give this guy a dime until you have the hardware in hand. I believe there are online escrow sites you can use, I'd recommend checking out one of those.
 
I'd guess he's talking about getting a cashiers check from the customer service desk, which you can get from any Publix.
 
Yea, my GF works customer service at publix, and it sounds like you are talking about western union. But like the guy above me said, be careful. This sounds like it might be a scam.
 
Yea I am talking about Western Union, this is what the guy wants me to use for a "Down payment" until I meet up with him on saturday and pay the rest. He said it's western union anyway.
