Listen, I have something somewhat important to say.
Tonight, as you may have noticed, the "forums are experiencing extremely high traffic" error has been rampant. Can you guess why? It's because too many people are trying to access the site at once. Think about that for a moment.
Each time you go to a thread, you download a bunch (maybe 20-30 of icons), and an html file of up to a few hundred KB. For every thing to be downloaded, one socket is used. You get an error message when the server is out of available open sockets.
Now, lets say Joe Schmoe wants to make a nef post. He opens the "New Thread" page (1), writes the post and clicks Post Thread, which sends him back to the index (1). Then many other people read the thread, regardless of whether or not they know he's a nef (64+). Already, we can see over 66 times a page was requested, each one requiring image downloads and multiple sockets used.
Now do you wonder why you're getting an error message? I'm not saying don't post at all, I'm saying nef posts have a greater impact than you can imagine. If you must nef, do it during the week or during the hours of 2AM-3PM, when no one gives a flying f. Until the specified times, don't post trash, it's impact multiplies exponentially and creates this.
Thank you.

Before you get carried away with your in-depth analysis, the problems you are experiencing are for exactly the opposite reasons. This weekend, we are installing more servers to deal with our growing traffic load. This will cause a few intermittant problems as they bring the new machines online.
