If you use a KillaWatt meter, be aware, although rated for 15A at 120v, they pose a fire risk at only 13A. (Granted, that was a continuous 13A, for, oh, a few weeks. )

My 2013 Chevy Volt uses 8 to 10 amps with its portable 120-volt charger unless I set the faster 12-amp charge speed every time. Probably a lot of fires with 2011/12 models due to poor home wiring. Standard home outlets should be able to handle 15 sustained amps, but I guess a lot of them can't quite do it (or people are overloading a circuit by using it for more than just charging the car).

Yeah, this is a (lesser) known issue. I keep my main rig connected to a K-A-W too, with two GPUs. Sometimes, I get concerned. I'm only pushing 450W at the wall at most, though.

Edit: Just checked mine, 416W at the wall. Just barely above room temp in here, which is probably 60F.
