can you guys recommend a free public news server?

so far my ISP's have had them, news.ispname.com etc, but the current one i have in pakistan doesn't have one, so i need a nice public one.

just the normal stuff wanted- porn, movies, apps etc ;)

i mean, err. news. thats what i want.

They basically ALL suck, and I doubt you'll find any that carry much of alt.binaries.

a full usenet feed was over 1 TB/day last time I checked, with 99.9%+ of that being binaries. That's without getting into the massive storage requirements and backup systems involved in providing adequate retention so that you might actually have a chance at getting anything before it expires.

You get what you pay for.

I like the $19.99 Newsfeeds.com account. I've had it nearly a year. Good retention. Daily d/l limits are rarely every reached to the point where I can't get what I need. I downloaded 2.5 gigs two nights ago in a few hours. I reached my limit on a couple of the servers, but not enough to affect my d/l speed (385K). You do need a good multiple server newsgroup reader. If you use NewsPro, they have downloadable server lists you import then add your username and password.
