...wow, what evocative, incredible music and lyrics. Its a shame to see hiphop/rap devolve into the crap it is today.

there is still good rap out there today, you just have to look harder for it, Nas is still great, and you must not hve listened to Wu tang lately have you?

No, since Wu Tang has been gone for more than a few years. The fact that I have to "look harder" for it, is proof that the rap genre is now a mass of overproduced garbage.

Rap by itself is still decent. the Hiphop genre has turned into commercial pop genre IMO. There are lots of artists with fresh lyrics out there but they don't get the big record deals/videos because they dont sell asmuch as the cheap pop dudes do.

I think Public Enemy is still one of the best out there. I was how ever disappointed with their House Of Blues DVD. The crowd was just not into it and Flavor Flav did not seem like he was putting his heart into it. The DJ they had filling in for Terminator X kicked major ass though. He is by far one of the best I have heard.

Go to WMNF dot org and saturday night from 11 pm to 2 am eastern you can listen to some good rap that you will not hear all over commercial radio.

It's alittle known fact that Flavor Flav was one of the inspirations for my screenname. I wondered one day "What if we could combine Flavor Flav with Fabio. What a superhuman that would be :D

My previous morphing idea was Phish and Coolio in which my screenname was Phoolio, but I thought it made it too easy for people to make jokes in debates.

Fear of a Black Planet is such an amazing CD.

Everyone's touting the smarts of Eminimem's lyrics; He doesn't hold A CANDLE to Chuck D.

Burn hollywood burn!

I saw PE live in 1990 - great show. I still think "It Takes A Nation Of Millions to Hold Us Back" may be the overall strongest rap album ever.

PE is the greatest, but you guys should DEFINITELY pick up Jurrasic 5's album Quality Control. It's brilliant! ;)

Public Enemy sucks. Wu Tang has a pretty new one out called Iron Flag, it's decent. Some really good ones are:

50 Cent- Look Whos Back
Ali- Heavy Starch
Az- Aziatic
Camp Lo- Lets Do It Again (this one is OK, not cream of the crop but almost there)
B Rich - 80 Dimes
Cee-Lo- Lo And His Perfect Imperfections
Cormega- The True Meanin
E-40- Grit and Grind
E-Life- E=MC2(amazing cd)
Juvinile- 400 Degreez(classic cd)
Kurupt- Young Gotti Against The Grain(not pre-mo, but has some pretty good tracks)
Lil Wayne- SQ4(bunch of really good ones on this cd, he re-did a bunch of awesome but not insanely popular songs, some not remixed, just done over)
Nappy Roots- Watermelon Chicken & Gritz(insanely good cd)
Nas- Death Of Escobar
Outkast- Big Boi & Dre Present The Best Of Outkast
Snoop Doog- The Last Meal
Styles - A Gangster And A Gentleman(little hardcore at some points but there are some unforgettable tracks on this one)
Tha East Sidaz- Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz(lots of good ones on here, and who can forget G'd up?)
Timbaland & Magoo- Indecent Purposeal(This one is good but a little iffy, timbaland is really good at what he dose, cant say the same for magoo though)
Trick Daddy- Thug Holiday(a must have)
Wu Tang Clan- Iron Flag
X-Ecutioners- Built From Scratch(This one is presented by the Wu Tang Clan, it's more hip/hop than rap, more of the DJ beats type stuff)

There is alot of crap out there these day's, all the good stuff is more spread out among different artists now, you have to collect. How anyone could listen to the crap Puplic Enemy puts out is beyond me.

I've never been able to get into Wu Tang. Their beats are repetitive to the point of distraction to me. Combine that with the neverending tracks (because each one of them needs to get their turn at the mike like it's Mariah Carey) and you get a big fat :p

;)

Public Enemy are great nothin compares to them, listened to one of the Wu Tang's album before i heard PE, it was poor then, and in comparison to some PE albums, its even poorer

Eminem? bah he is nothing compared to Chuck D

what are peeps fav PE songs????
mines are not in this order but:
He Got Game
Fight The Power
Public Enemy no. 1 - Puff Daddy absolutely messed up this track in my view! trying to cement his bad boy image and ignoring the true message of the song

actually ive decided my fav song is He Got Game although Bring the Noise w Anthrax aint too shabby aswell but He Got Game has a long likeablity factor

Ahem - thanks for your valuable contribution and positive attitude!

Please, I wrote alot more than just that one fact ;). I hate most of the Wu Tang Clans older stuff, the new CD is quite a bit different from their older cds though, and the only real reason I partially like Wu Tang is because of Redman. PE is way to hard ass to enjoy.

I already picked it up. They are very good as well.

Some of my favorite PE tracks are

Get The Fsck Outta Dodge (mainly for the beat)
Move
Unstoppable
Shut Em Down
Brothers Gonna Work It Out
Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos
Rebel Without A Pause
