Public Enemies trailer

Ughhhh, I hate these digital cameras. They look like shit. Looks absolutely horrible on my projector. Why can't they shoot film and then transfer to HD?

trailer exclusive to quicktime = lame

yes yes, I know, quicktime alternative, but still...

Jesus Christ, can we stop with the damn "quicktime lame!" comments? What HD movie trailer isn't in quicktime? You might as well start complaining "movie in theaters and not on TV = lame."

As for the grain, seeing as it's a period piece it wouldn't surprise me if it is intentional. I seem to recall that there was grain with Road to Perdition. Seems like a trend when it comes to certain movies when set in certain periods. Like with Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan though they added grain for different reasons.

Sweet, another trailer that gives away the whole damn movie.

I think when its based on a true story the main plot isn't what attracts people to the movie.

Haha. I had a friend ask me about if I knew how Valkyrie would turn out before we saw it. "Yes, I have a pretty good idea of how things go in general..."

EDIT: Heheh, reminded of the time I went to see Enemy at the Gates with a bunch of friends. In one scene, the main character is brought to the headquarters of some of the top brass and there is a large picture of Stalin prominently displayed in the room. A friend leans over and asks me, "Who is that guy?" "Umm.... That's Josef Stalin." "Oh..... .... Is he dead?" ".... ..... .... Not at the time of the war but he is dead now..."

I doubt it was intentional. If it was intentional, it'd show or try to show grains even in day-light shots but the grain, digital noise to be accurate, is only evident in dark settings.

I don't know, I still see it in the sun lit scenes:

Probably be better to see how it looks when it is on screen or in stills since the HD feed has its own artifacts. You can see the blocking in the third shot.
