PT Cruiser: Love it or hate it?

<< It's a neon with a different body. >>

This is a commonly-repeated misconception. They actually share very few parts, and much of the PT Cruiser is purpose-built for the car (e.g., the flat rear beam axle, which is intended to maximize cargo space and allow a very flat floor).

It looks different from anything I see on the road, so thats a plus. But I wouldnt want one personally, because I see it as a novelty car that is a passing fad. Kinda like the Mazda Miata was a few years back.

it is by far the fugliest car i've ever seen. every time I see one, I'm tempted to tip it if i'm on foot or hit it if i'm in a car. those things should be banned-they're opiates for the yuppies who have just realized they can't afford a lexus and want to be "bad" like al capone.
give me a break.

It's a cool lookin car if you are like older I think. I still need something bigger since I don't think I would fit comfortably in here.

I'm one of the 'younger' crowd, and I like it. But then again, I love how they packaged the interior. The look isn't bad- but a little body and suspension work plus some nice rims would go a long way.

Now if I can only get the one that Hennesy massaged out with a Viper V10. A little pricey, but definitely cool. 😀

I love it. I want a sedan, but I need the room for hauling stuff around (like computer cases). Plus, good gas miledge. I wish it had room for a V6, but oh well :Q

I don't like the yuppie aspect either (obviously, I use Linux and AMD). But cool things always attract the retarded. Like my grandfather always said, 'It's morally wrong to let a fool keep his money'. No my grandfather never said that, but Murphy did!

If it was something different then a Neon frame with a fancy (not to mention fugly) body, it might be a nice car.
But its not, and I really do not like it.
They should soup it up. I read in a rag that they have a PT Crusher on the way, with the vipers v10 in it.
That would kick.

i love it, but it is too weak. My friend had a turbo version but it was still pretty wimpy, didnt get to play with the NOS though. I heard they were makeing a GT Cruiser with 190 hp maybe that would be a little better. Like the desing though reminds me of the woodys

Don_Vito,

My dad works at research and engineering for Ford. They took one apart and found that is essentially a Neon with a different body.

BTW, it's fugly.

That's because they're based off of the same frame - which is how they keep their prices down.

My dad has a PT Cruiser. He thinks he's all cool, he's got big wheels on it, and getting the supercharger.

I tell him to go sit down 🙂
