Psychonauts ahoy!!!

I just fired this thing up, it's the cutest game I ever played. The graphics are totally cool.
I had to get a tag to hang on my emotional baggage and I have to gather up figments of my imagination.
It really is funny and it's a lot of fun. It's a nice break from the FPS and racing sim games I usually play.
This should make my 8 year old extremely happy.

yeah, i bought the game too, and it rocks!

though, i dunno if an 8-yr old will truly understand what's going on.

a lot of the subject matter is kinda deep, like mental cobwebs and emotional baggage etc.

still an awesome game thought!

yay for Tim Schafer

i gotta get it, i am only hearing great things about it and i think it is the type of game my wife would like

My 8-year old daughter is fortunate to have an extremely high IQ and the sense to ask questions. I hear, "Dad, what's..." about 20 times a day.
Her patience for learning games like the Sims and the tycoon games is far, far beyond mine. I was going to throw Rome:Total War at her just to see what happens.
This game reminds me a lot of a SpongeBob for xbox game we had. Both the 8 year old and 13 year old loved it.
I imagine I'll have to get this for xbox before it's all over.
I'm going to go load it up on the 8 year-old's computer now so she can dig it when she gets home. She'll be tickled.

i am so out of touch, i have never heard of this game.
I subscribe to PC Gamer, or I'd be totally out of the loop, too.
Check it out at pcgamer.com.
The subscription is cheap, it's a very well done magazine, and I read it cover to cover because it's actually fun.
It's written from the standpoint of 20-somethings, not 13 year olds.

oh yeah now i remember that game... hahaha my old brain needs a bit of leverage at times.

PCGamer is pretty good.... I suscribe too (free with Delta miles). I know read their article on quake or doom or which ever they did about ID and Raven collaboration. pretty decent for what it is meant to be, though I have confirmed through friends that they got several names/positions at Raven screwed up.

Yeah, they screw up a lot of stuff. They clean it all up in the editorials the next month.
I just came home and this month's PCGamer was in the mailbox. 🙂

The game is selling horribly. I believe only 14,000+ copies have been sold so far if I'm not mistaken.

It'll catch on as soon as some folks see it. It got an excellent rating in PC Gamer, but the advertising has been non-existant. I'm pretty jaded and I liked it.
The real test is to see how long it entertains my daughter.

I'm not sure why, I hear commercials for it and DJs talking about it every 15 minutes on all the radio stations here.

I saw a brief bit of it on G4 one day, and it certainly looks to be somewhat unique. I know it's on XBox - is there a GC version?

should I get Xbox or PC version
THAT is the question

My first thought was "I wish I had a bigger screen".
I was playing it on my 17" LCD Samsung and it looks glorious. It needed more acreage though. If the xbox version is half decent, I'll buy it after renting it.
