A few of my friends and I decided to take a little roadtrip to Cambridge during winter break so we could visit a friend at school. The surprising thing is that it actually happened. So we were driving up the NJ turnpike around 4:30 Saturday morning and all quite buzzed on caffenine and sugar. As we were just cruising along a truck comes up right behind us and proceeds to ride my ass on a nearly empty interstate. I know for a fact that the fast last was open because i swerved into it when he came within a foot of the rear left window. He got really pissed because i tapped the brakes, albeit just enough to turn on the lights but not slow down. I let him pass but we notice that he is slowing down trying to make us pass him, which we do. When we get up next to his front wheel, the bastard trys to sideswipe my poor little civic. I had to go into the shoulder and get up to 90 to get away from him. A little ways down the road, the turnpike divides. Feeling a bit safer, i slow down to about 70 and he promptly catches up and starts pacing me on the other side of a jersey wall. I leave him in the dust again and try to ditch him in the next rest stop. By the time we got out of the car, he was out and walking towards us. I yell at the girls i was with to get back in the car before they even see him. When we pull out he starts running at us and jumps into the middle of the lane. I slammed on the brakes and flew backwards through the lot, then weaved through a few parked cars and got back on the highway. We managed to hide in the next exit from him and never saw him again. The rest of the trip up there (another 250 miles atleast) the mere site of an 18 wheeler was enough to scare the lot of us. Now today there was one w/o a trailer down the street. I was walking around the house with a combat fighting knife until he left. I swear this guy was going to kill us if he got the chance. Fortunately my little 1.5l honda can outrun crrazy mullet-men quite easily.

Apart from that, we had a blast. We went to the harvard/yale hockey game and played with the harvard band. We also went to primal scream on sunday. Damn that was a lot of naked people.

I'd have bit that guy, except he was probably dirty and i wasn't going to get close to him if i could help it.

Yeah we all hate NJ now. Not just because of that though, the stink has a good bit to do with it.

It don't smell so bad if you get away from Newark/NYC and a little ways off the turnpike.

Oh. Well if you were coming up the Delaware Memorial Bridge on 295, it was probably clean air you were smelling for the first time in a long time.

I do carry a knife at all times, but i have no desire to use it for that purpose.

I certainly hope that is not the smell of clean air.

Idiots like that give Truck Drivers an undeserved bad rep.

The proper thing to have done was a quik call to the State Police with his license number and complete description.

Also, complain to the company he drives for. They must keep records of complaint as it is breaking federal law to not record complaints.

If I were to get three such complaints in twelve months, I'd be fired! There is no excuse for that kind of driver.

Tom: The only thing i got was the trailer tag number. We never saw a company name or his other tag. We did try to call the police but the woman at 411 was completly incompetent and i didn't view it as an emergency until it was too late. We had planned on calling them from the rest stop that plan did go through. Although when i was evading him there we did see him dialing what i assumed was the police. Also, i'd hope that someone who pulled this kind of BS would get fired the first time if it was substanciated.

if you had a cell phone you could have called 911 and had the cops come.

you should have written down his company and his license number, then gotten as far away as you could.

That was a cute trick you pulled getting away from me, next time I'll nail your ass. Your little Honda may be able to outrun my rig, but you sure as hell can't outrun my radio.

I don't know about that Viper, the last Freightliner I drove would do just over a hundred effortlessly. He'd really have to work that honda then.
