PSU's for Antec P180B case

Howdy all,

I know the cable management for the power supply in a P180B case can be a tricky thing... I have seen it done by various folk by stretching 'x' cable underneath 'y' card, or what have you, in order to reach the plugs on the mobo.

My question is... do some PSU's come with longer power wires than some other PSU's might have? Assuming I want to avoid the traffic jam of cables stretching under or over things to reach their goal, can I purchase a PSU with longer power wires or should I just assume I will need to buy extensions for some of the connectors/wires?

I am thinking of getting the OCZ GameXsteam PSU (or whatever it is called) but I have found no info anywhere about power wire lengths on this or any other PSU.

Thanks!

I have heard the Seasonic S12 and Enermax Liberty PSUs both have long enough cables. If you want modular then get the Liberty, if not then the Seasonic.

Thanks for the reply dBTelos!

I will check out the Liberty... I know it is readily available at Memory Express here in Calgary.

I have that same case and the OCZ 700Watt GameXstream PSU.

All the cables reach quite far, and I have to send one to the upper left corner of the mobo for the CPU power and another to my optical drive in the top bay and they reach just fine, even around my bulky 7900GTX video card.

This is a very fine combo of case and PSU. Get it.

I think just about every High Quality PSU would have cables long enough. Some people like Modular PSus where you only attach what cables you need.

I just got a P180B, Enermax Liberty 500W, and Asus P5B motherboard. The 2x2 connector is way up in the upper left corner of the motherboard - farthest location from the PSU in this case. The Enermax 2x2 cable makes it up there with room to spare.
