PSU

I'm in the process of building my computer right now and was wondering what PSU you all would recommend? Here's the specs I'm looking at

Core 2 Duo E6600
GeForce 8600 Ultra
Asus Nvidia nForce 650i SLI Mobo
Western Digital 500 GB HDD
Asus DVD Burner
USB 2.0 Card Reader
NEC Floppy
Creative Xtreme Gamer
Corsair XMS (2X1GB)

I was looking at this Corsair, http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817139001 From what I've heard it's pretty good. I'll probably be looking to run SLI within a year, but not right away. Is the 520 version good enough, or should I step up to 620?

So you guys think this psu is fine with a e6600 overclocked (I guess) and 2 , 8600 ultra's in sli also overclocked? 520 watts with a 40 amp total rail. Yes it don't equal 18 amps X 3 rails. I would say it's pushing it. I would take a serious look at the 620 watt for the future. I hate to see the guy have to buy a whole new power supply ,when he could just spend a coulple bucks more now. It seems a e6600 system has a lot of longevity. Just my 2 cents.😉

520W and 40amps is plenty. It should hold out on that rig nicely. I got a Corsair 520hx myself, 97 shipped including tax in CA at Buy.com. Looks like they're OOS now though.

I don't think for a minute that it won't work with a overclocked e6600 and a single overclocked 8600ultra. The op said he would want to sli within a year. Thats what troubles me. I guess I'm a "better of safe then sorry guy" for a few extra bucks. A e6600 overclocked will have at least a 2/3 year life span and new video cards will beat that 520 watt psu to death by then. Then he willl spend another 100+ dollars instead of less $$ now
