PSU

hi, if a psu says "955/dual-core ready", what is the 955 for? does it mean it will only work with socket 955 dual core only? would this power supply work with an athlon dual core in an Asus A8N32-SLI delux?

Did you not have another thread about this?

955 i assume refers to the Intel chipset 955. There is no socket 955. Dual core ready means it should have an 8-pin connector for dual cores, either that or itll simple be able to handle a dual core cpu. It will work with single core if required.

It would be helpful to know the PSU in question 🙂

I checked Asus, that motherboard has a 4-pin ATX 12V connector. The power supply has a 4-pin ATX 12V plug. It looks like you also get
a 24-pin, 8 4-pin molex, 1 floppy, 6 SATA, and 2 PCIe 6-pin plugs - everything you need. I have the ASL version of that power supply
(has the 8-pin EPS plug, but they include an 8-pin to 4-pin ATX 12V adapter).
