I bought a Corsair 520Watt psu and the 12v reads 12.15-12.2v on a multimeter, it reads the same on idle and load, is this an ok voltage?

ATX spec states + or - 5%, so 12.6V is the permitted high. So you are OK. Most guys would love having 12.2V.

Exactly!!! He's looking at rock solid stable voltages and worrying because they're .12V above +12V? Go see the guy who's down to +11.36V under load....he's got a worry on his hands.

I just got the same PSU as you on this system

CPU: C2D e6300
MOBO:Biostar Tforce 965PT
RAM:2x 1GB OCZ Platnium XTC DDR2 PC6400
GPU: 8800GTS 640MB 600/900
HD: Maxtor 320GB 7200RPM 16mb Cache
Optical Disk: NEC 2500A
Fans: 2x 120MM

And im Getting 11.84 idle and im using Everest to see the railings. Isnt that pretty bad? or am i looking at the 12volt rails wrong?

Voltage readings MUST be acquiored with a DMM (digital multi-meter).
Software generated reading are just a guide.

So the 11.84 is false? I have a Digital Multi meter, what do i have to do to test out the rails?

Ground the black probe then poke around with the red probe. I hope the metal tips are not real big as they won't get down into the ATX shell. The 5V & 12V can be checked at a 4 pin molex real easy. An orange wire would be the 3.3V.
Google for a tutorial, there are many out there.

Wow. the Corsair 520Watt rocks i love the damn thing. Rails are solid at 12.03 under load. What the bios and the software was telling me was bull.
