PSU voltage regulation

I had to replace my PSU and the new PSU has a much lower 12V voltage.

My old PSU stayed steady at 12.01V.

My new PSU stays steady at 11.78V.

It is the exact same model, a Seasonic S12 500W PSU.

The Intel suggestion for the 12V line is +/-5% which the 11.78V is within but I still am wondering why this is and am worried that a heavy load will bring the number outside of the 5%.

Should I be worried?

If your reading that from a software hardware monitoring program and everything is running fine, ignore it. If you really need an accurate reading, just pick up a $10 multimeter from Walmart.

meh...that's fine.

My psu hits 11.71 v on load for almost a year and didn't have any hiccpus since then.

What does it normally read idle?
