PSU versus UPS ?

Am working on some systems here,pre-built, all supposedly working,know good.One of the other people working with me,put a workstation in place,plugged everything in and boom,"pop,pop"the PSU is dead ,am sitting here waitng on another PSU,hoping the mb didn't die too but am wondering is this just a faulty PSU,is the UPS possibly screwed ? Issues with the power from the wall or what.


I've seen systems blow but not like this one .

usually UPS's regulate power so it shouldn't be the wall... power supplies *can* go bad :) you could always test the UPS on another computer, I realllly doubt it'd blow the PWS

that was my thinking but wanted to run it by folks here...
