When I install the PSU I have to do it upside down, cause if I do it right side up the fan that intakes will be against the top of the case, am I doing something wrong or what? I have an Enermax Noisetaker 470 Watt PSU and a Prateorian case.

how do you know its upside down? Not going to hurt anything and as long as it can get air into it and out your alright

Haveing it upside down is fine, don't worry about it. Are you sure the fan on top is intake, and not exhaust?

I have heard of people having to mount the power supply upside down due to the case being different. If it fits and runs properly, don't worry about it's configuration just use it.

Mounting your PSU with the fan toward the inside of the case, not the top, is the CORRECT way to mount it. Even though it would probably make little difference if you mounted it the other way.
. What gives you the idea it's upside down when it is mounted CORRECTly. If it is how the label reads, that can be ignored. My PSU has the label on the side that's toward the top when mounted CORRECTly, so you normally can't even see it.
. The PSU doesn't really care which way you mount it, though convention would have it that you want the cirrcuit board down.

It doesn't matter anyway I found out that I had to choose whether to use my back exhuast fan or the intake fan for the PSU and I chose the back exhaust.

You cannot mount the supply the wrong way. It is amazing that nobody ever noticed that the screw holes that mount the PS are not in a square or even in a straight line. If you put it in the wrong way you cannot bolt it up to the case.

Well I put it upside down and I managed to bolt the case up and everything, and I don't think it'll make much sense to have one of the fans facing the top of the case.

As Viper noted, you want the intake fan drawing air from inside the tower, and the exhaust fan blowing it out. Hence, the intake fan faces the mobo. Since one of the mounting screws is off center, this should be the only way you could mount it. It is not "upside down" - that's how it works!

Are you certain you plugged everything in? According to Enermax's guide:

For PSU with FC/FCA function: You MUST plug this Fan Control connector (14) into motherboard PWR_FAN connector to activate power supply 8cm exhaust fan. Failure to do so will drastically decrease PSU cooling effect, or result in PSU failure due to insufficient cooling. Furthermore, the PSU will automatically adjust fan speed according to Thermal Sensor (15) reading. It is recommended to put the Thermal Sensor near CPU heat sink.

A PS can face anyway you like it. Period. Some cases flip the PS, some have it on its side. This may affect your cooling as some PS's have the fan on the 'top' some on the 'bottom.' Whatever...that's why you research these things before you buy. If your PS fan is pointing up as you say, then break out the jigsaw and cut a blowhole in the top.

Some cases have a PSU mouting arrangement that would allow you to mount the PSU either way. From the look of the Praetorian's PSU surround, it is one of them as the opeining is rectangular.
. Some others have a removable PSU mounting plate that can be inverted or left out for a redundant PSU...

I had a rig with the PS mounted on the outside of the case once. I ended up winning a case at a lan party, later on. I guess I won the ghetto award.
