PSU Suggestion

I could use a PSU suggestion. I'm building a system as follows:

Antec P180 case
AMD X2 4800+
ASUS A8R-32MVP mobo
ATI Radeon X1900 XT (will add a second in crossfire down the line)
will probably have at least 5 hdds in it.

I had been planning to go for the enermax liberty 620, but have read a lot of reports about DOAs. What about the Antec neo he 550? I steered away from that when I was planning for the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe (has compatibility issues with the antec psu), but now I'm doing the a8r-32, and I haven't heard of any problems.

Basically, I need a PSU with a good amount of power, long cables (for the p180 case), and normal size shell (again, for the p180 case).

Thanks for any suggestions.

OCZ GameXStream 600W/700W

It seems to be on sales alot, & should handle CF & multiple peripherals well.

The GameXStreams are just rebadged FSP FX600/700GLN models.

If you really want to go all out, then one of the 1.1kW Tagan supplies would sort that rig out without difficulty. However, I expect that you would be fine with a 600/700W PSU from a reputable manufacturer such as Seasonic, Thermaltake or Antec.

TT and Antec, both arn't very good. I wouldn't recommend either.

You know this from experience or are you just repeating others comments as usual?

Personally, I've had good success with the Antec Neo HE series PSU's... I currently have a 430w.

TT PSUs I know are crap from reliable reviews, and I have seen many cases where Antecs PSUs have gone bad due to their caps. Not exactly experience but its still facts.

The OCZs are nice, but from what I've seen they are too long for the antec p180. You have to remove the extra fan down in the psu/hdd area to fit them in. Or was that just with the PowerStream models?

The highly efficient GameXStream core is sheltered in a standard dimension chassis, resulting in a smaller footprint and more legroom for system-cooling modifications.
Ahh, the GamerXStream PSUs are a normal size (150 x 140 x 86mm). Looks like the 600W model could work nicely.
