PSU sufficient?

I recently added a new graphics card and have also ordered some more upgrades(CPU+cooler, bigger RAM) and I have been looking around and saw forum recommendations for single mid level graphics cards needing 500w+ PSU, also using a few PSU calculators seem to be around that area, and then I found:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f210/power-supply-information-and-selection-192217.html

Saying that you need 30% more than recommended.

My question: Will my current PSU be enough to handle my set up and the upgrades coming? Use will be for BF3, LoL, occasional recreational video editing, and normal computer use. I have no intention to Crossfire/SLI or get a bigger card on this rig. OC'ing CPU/GPU not neccessary, but if able I might.

Yes, that PSU is fine. It will handle some overclocking too but I wouldn't go crazy on it.

I have all the components except the new CPU and RAM. I was just stupid when I ordered the GPU and PSU, the gpu was listed for 500w and in my excitment I just picked something around that. Thanks for the feedback. I may end up getting a new PSU, but since you think it will be ok, I'll probably try out my current one for a bit and run some monitor/benchmark software to see if its getting ample power and performing decently.

Haha, 3 edits. Yea, I don't plan to go crazy with OC and probably won't even do it. Thanks again.

It's relatively easy to calculate how much power components will use at maximum load. And as a rule of thumb, that number should be below 80% of the rated wattage of the PSU (for the absolute highest quality PSUs that can be up to 100% of rated wattage, and for lower quality ones... well you shouldn't be using those anyway).

Basically just google the TDP of the CPU. In this case 65W for X2 250 or 125W for 1100T, at stock clocks. Then add to that the TDP of the GPU (or read a Guru3D review, they determine the GPU power consumption experimentally). For 6870, that's 140W. Then add around 50W for the rest, up to 100W if you have a sick amount of hard drives, lights, fans, usb devices etc. That ends up around 255W for the X2 250 setup, all components at full load - only 50% of rated wattage. OC all you want. With the X1100, that's 315W, and overclocking both the CPU and GPU heavily may take it beyond 80% of rated wattage with all components at full load. But a moderate OC will be perfectly fine.

Give a man a fish...
