PSU Software Diagnostics

Any PSU software (not hardware involded) diagnostic program that will at least let you know you're PSU is way off balance?

I've read they're not reliable but have no idea what even one of the softwares is ..that isn't so reliable. I'd like to give it a try if I can get ahold of trialware.

My RAM keeps going bad in my board on stock voltages and voltages within spec/safe margin.

the PSU is a new PC Power & Cooling 750 Quad.

All software applications of some degree of error in there readings and are almost never correct. Chances ae your PSU isn't the problem. If it is a problem pertaining to the voltages then it may be a problem with the motherboard.

SpeedFan is what most of us use. Of course, it's nowhere near as accurate as a $10 digital multimeter.

could you explain how the mutlimeter works and how it is attached? i see tons of references to it and am curious about how they are connected to the power supply.

Here is what your basic VOM looks like.

Now for checking your PSU you will set the dial to 20V as you see in the upper left section of the dial. The black probe is then placed into a spair molex connector with one of the black wires and the red prob goes with the yellow wire. The meter will then display the voltage it reads. If you want to check the 5V rail then more the red probe over to the red wire. The Black probe is always negative and the red is positive when checking DC voltages.
