PSU requirements of new video cards

What strength of PSU would someone want to run an 8800 on as well as all the other system components? Thanks.

id say just buy a 700 watt ocz and forget about it for a while. mine was only 120 after rebate from the egg 4ish months ago.

songokussm, just cause anand uses that power supply for benching doesn't mean you need that power supply. a 500w (give or take) pc p&c, corsair, enermax liberty, seasonic, fortron, (maybe a couple other brands) i would list as more than enough

Just about all of the video card articles on AnandTech have power consumption (W) towards the end of each. And they are tested/measured in quite high-end machines, so as far as I can tell I don't see why people need to get 750 W or higher PSUs. I guess the same people who said they needed a 500 W when 350 W were adequate for a vast majority of enthusiast machines.
