PSU Recommendation

My current PSU is dying on me, Enermax Whisper 431W, and I'm looking to see if someone has a good recommendation for another PSU. This enermax unit ran 38A, 44A, and 20A, on the 3.3V, 5V, and 12V lines respectively. Not bad for a PSU that's 5+ years old.

Looking at new power supplies I don't see any that are really knocking my socks off. They all seem to be right around the same specs as this enermax.

Right now I'm running 3 hdds, an x800xl, an xp2400, two rom drives, zip, fan controller, and 7 fans, most of which are connected to the fan controller. But the PSU can't handle it anymore and is killing the last hdd plugged in (forcing the hdd to restart).

Right now i'm thinking of getting this Xion ATX12V V.2.01 600W Power Supply which runs
+3.3V@35A, +5V@53A, +12V1@22A, +12V2@22A, -5V@0.5A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@2.5A
or
this coolmax running
+3.3V@30A, +5V@50A, +12V@35A, -5V@0.5A, -12V@1A, +5VSB@2.5A

I never plan on running SLI, but I do plan a slow upgrade in the next few months to a amd64 system (around a 3200+ venice) and PCI-Express. So the new PSU will go in that system which will have 2-4 sata hdds in raid0 and an x850pro or 7800 something and with a lot of the fans and fan controller from the first system.

What do you guys recommend? I'd like to get a new PSU ordered this week. Thanks.

I've never heard of Xion, and Coolmax isn't really a good brand. I'd go with a newer enermax, they have always been good to me. Antec, Fortron, or Seasonic would be good too. Enermax tends to have the strongest 12v rails, and thats what you need with all those drives and fans you have.

I you are willing to spend $100+ already, consider going for the Seasonic S12 600W PS.
It is the best PSU out there!

Money no object = OCZ Powerstream
Next down = Seasonic
Great Value/performance = TSP or Fortron

have to vote on the pc power and cooling 510 sli. I know it's overpriced but the 50-70 bucks spent on it give me peace of mind and my system has not had a hiccup. There is arguably no BETTER psu out there.

I'm actually looking at a price of around $100 to spend. So, a PCP&C psu that meets the requirements i'm looking for is pretty much out of the question. Considering i spent ~90 bucks on this enermax that ran coninuously for 5 years, approximately 306khours with down time - it wasn't a bad deal. The PCP&C psu's aren't rated any better for MTBF than the other psus (typically 100k hours). I'm happy with what i got out of my enermax and I'd stick with enermax if I hadn't been hearing so many bad things about the quality of their recent PSUs.
