What's a PurePower ?

In any event, a quiet PSU will have a thermal fan speed adjustment feature (like antec TruePower does, I believe) or a manually adjustable fan speed (like my Enermax Whisper 365-FCA does). I'm very happy with my Whisper, but have made a few cheap PSUs quiet by modding the fan in them to run at 7v or on a baybus/rheostat.

Antec TruePower 430 is what I have. I can't hear it over my hard drives. Thermaltake's products are usually louder than advertised, so keep that in mind

Ahem, what's a PurePower ? I know the TruePower series has independent rails to make them more stable, but have no idea what a PurePower is.

EDIT: Maybe i'm being a bit too subtle here. With PSU's, it's usually best to go with names that the geeks (like myself) recognize. This is why I talk about Antec and Enermax. If I buy a PSU separately, I've always picked these two. ThermalTake isn't a major player in the PSU business (probably why we see 100s of threads about Antec and TruePower, Zalman, Enermax Whispers, but little about TT's PurePower). I would be interested to know who's actually making the TT PSU though, TT products are outsourced like most everyone else AFAIK.

Take your pick from any of the recommended units at-

SilentPC

It's extremely unlikely that you need more than 300w. The Nexus units are apparently the quietest, they look like re-fanned rebadged Fortron/Source(Sparkle) units to me, a good thing. The Zalmans are very quiet and solid, that from personal experience. Nice price at Nexfan...

Tt stuff isn't top shelf, IME...
