PSU Question?

Okay what is dual 12v ?In what kind of system is it use for? Would it improve a single 12v comp? And i want everyone opnion on the PSU from OCZ the 450 modular. Oh yea one more question this PSU has blue led is there a way to open the case and shut the led off?

dual 12v rails separates the system and peripheral 12v needs so in theory there is better line regulation , eg. there is 18A for the mobo & 14A for the hdds etc.
.... most people would just add up the 2 rails and compare how many A there are

with the blue led, it is theoretically possible to turn it off (read: cut the wire) but it would require a lot of work, maybe just changing the fan would be simpler for you

As far as personal-use PCs are concerned: As long as a PSU can supply the necessary amps to all the components steadily, it matters little if the PSU is single or dual rail.

lian-li are nice well built cases. can't really say anything bad about them except for the price, but often its worth it.

I don't know anything about OCZs. But it appears to be a good unit. Look at the 12volt rail... you get 26 amps, that's pretty good considering my Thermaltake 420 watt only has 17 amps. That's about 50% more power on the 12 v rail.

OCZ - 450W: +3.3V(28A), +5V(45A), +12V(26A)

Now granted in reality, this may not make a whole lot of difference unless you had several HDD/CD drives in your system and having that powerful 12volt rail would really help.

I have the OCZ modstream 520, and before i got it i was a little hesitant becuase with my system everyone was saying i should get a PC power and cooling, but i am OCZ faithful and i am very happy with it, the rails are solid and i have no instability running two 6800 ultras in SLI with an FX-55, and two raptors, everything seems a-okay youll be very happy with it.

As for the LED, to cut the wire you have to take the case off and be very careful with the transistors(drain them with a rubber handled screwdriver after letting it sit for six hours without it plugged in) and then cut the wire. I replaced mine with a white LED, becuase i wanted my Blue CCFL coming from a different part of the case, and i only wanted a light overlay, not a huge bright glowing disco inferno.

As for the case, they are very great, the price is a little high, but once you get it you'll have no regrets, i have the PC-75 silver with case window, its very strudy and extremely well built.
