Sorry if this is the wrong forum (please tell me where to post this if it is the wrong forum). I am intending to change my PS to get improved OCing results. I am using an antec truepower 380. the OCZ has 33amp on +12v while the antec NP 480 has dual 12v rail with 18 and 15amp. which is better? my rig in sig below. thanks.

OCZ Hands down.

Unless you really want a modular power supply for a clean case. But the OCZ massacres the Neopower.

I just ordered a OCZ 520w from monach computers for $125 plus shipping..for the differnece in price...About $20 (138 for 2 day fedex air shipping vs $115(free shipping but fedex super saver) for Neopower from Antec)...I figured the OCZ was a much better buy

Most reviews stated the Antec was below 12v with minimal flucuation whereas the OCZ was generally over 12v and you can adjust the voltage on the rails..5yr warranty etc

seemed like a no brainer to me

FWIW,

I got an answer back from Antec today. They are going to cross ship me a new PSU.

If anyone wants details, or if you think your Antec PSU may be affected, LMK.

The OCZ Powerstream 520 watt is rated conservativley and has been known to peak at close to 600 watts. Their 600 watts have also been known to peak at about 700. OCZ wins handsdown.

Good luck finding an OCZ anywhere until after the holidays....I found one place and it will cost you about 150-160 shipped...many places out of stock have it for 130-140 shipped range....

okay, OCZ seems to be the way to go. 2 questions though, is the OCZ "loud" ? and what about OCZ vs PCP&P turbocool 510?

the OCZ is not IMHO...and I hate fan noise..if I turn off all my case fans ..I can hear but it not very noisey...you can read a review at silentpcreview.com..they do not place it as "quiet " psu yet the antec true power 550 is louder and they do list this as recommend for a "silent machine"...

I really like this psu....

the best psu for noise is a seasonic super silencer and these are very good as well

I should point many have encountered issues with the antec psu's and the Neo 2 Plat...have you had any trouble

some have also reported this to be the case with the OCZ powerstreams...I was hoping to get my A64 3200 winchester and Neo 2 Plat today from mwave after using overnight delivery but Fedex claims they could not get to me from memphis(it was delayed out of their control BS...what a waste of money ...maybe I can get a credit back to ground fees)

I am hopeful this psu causes no issues with the mobo..seems that bios 1.36/1.37 may solve the issue if you get it
