psu question

i'm thinking about buying a new power supply, and i was wondering if what i'm running now is good enough, its an Antec 450 watt smart power. Motherboard monitor says:
+3.3: 2.62 to 2.66
+5: 4.81 to 4.92
+12: 11.43 to 12.10
-5: -5.09 to -5.04
-12: -12.77 to -12.44

are these numbers good or what? the 3.3 seems a little odd to me but i dont know

I wouldn't believe the mobo sensor, especially in your case. It's just impossible to even turn the computer on with 2.62~2.66V at +3.3V. If everything is ok as now, I won't consider upgrading PSU.

the 3.3v rail is saying 2.6v because mobo monitor and other monitoring software seem to like to display the RAM voltage as the 3.3v....so don't worry about that

It also depends on the board- some of the overclocker-type amd boards don't use the 3.3v at all and it's tough to regulate voltage against zero load. That's true of some of the Epox and Iwill boards in particular, maybe some others...

A 450w smartpower should run just about anything... the need for monster psu's is greatly overstated, and the quality of some theoretically high powered units is zip...
