I was reading the power supply reviews and it got me wondering if mine is good enough or if I could be headed for component failure.

I don't have the specs of my supply right now (it's at home, I'm at work), but it's a 300w Sparkle.

My rig is in my sig, but here's a quick rundown:

AMD xp2600+
ATI 9700 Pro
2x 40gb harddrives
DVD Rom
CDRW
Only 2 fans (keeps it quiet)
--1 on cpu
--1 exhaust fan

I haven't run into any problems in the past year but only recently put in the 2600 (was 1800).

Should I upgrade the supply?

300wt Sparkles are topnotch PSU's and will runn what you have with no problems

Only worry about the PSU if you start throwing in more hard drives, water cooling or some other power hungry component (i.e. some of the new Uber video cards coming out). Your system, as configured should do just fine.
