Would a seasonic 760w platinum support

i7 3770
120gb ssd
1tb 7200
phanteks cpu cooler
2 r9 290x
8gb gskill ram
blue ray burner
z77 performance fatal1ty

Currently have this set up with one r9 290x but my second one will be here tuesday not sure if my psu can handle it or not.

Thanks in advance

i run a pair of msi r9 290 for litecoin mining 24/7/365

the unit pulls 625 watts at the kill a watt plug. 24/7/365 it has done this since dec 4th 2013 with under 10 combined hours of down time.

my r9 290's are not overclocked .

My cpu is a 4570t ------------------------------low voltage not over clocked

I use 2x 4gb sticks of samsung vlp low voltage ram. not over clocked

My board is a gigbyte sniper1 m5

no oc on the cpu.

a samsung ssd

no dvd player/blu ray

I have a 19 port hub attached it is designed to mine with asic usb sticks. I have a usb keyboard and a usb mouse.

I would say that you would be on the edge with your psu and that if you oc you may over tax it.

to follow up you could try it and see since it is close and if you are not an over clock junkie it should work.

you would be better off with an 850 watter but your 760 may be good enough.

For 290X Crossfire 850W should be optimal, 1000W if anything is overclocked. A high quality 750W could maybe handle them, but if you overclock anything it could be asking for trouble in the long term.

AMD R9-290X Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

If you are going to overclock GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.

-> Card power consumption - PEAK (Crysis 2) - 282W DC, card only

I would say you would have to upgrade the PSU if you want to be safe. Even if the PC boots up, you could experience random restarts as a result of the lack of power from the PSU.

Each 290x is easily capable of drawing 300W or more when OCed.

Even though that should theoretically leave you with enough power (at stock clock speeds), there is still a little bit of uncertainty.... I couldn't get my Corsair CX 600 to boot up my 5870 and 2x 7850 even though all three GPUs combined draw less than 400W.

Actually, the 290x reference with its 8+6 pin configuration maxes out at 75w+75w+150w = 300w. Not possible to draw more than that.

CX series is quite different from what the OP has - the rating of a CX unit doesn't quite reflect the capacity of its 12V output. With a Seasonic platinum, the +12V should be capable of continuous output at the wattage stated in the label, though I would still not recommend pushing it that hard because it will give in in the long term. But I highly doubt the OP would notice any immediate problems like random restarts

While that may hold true at stock settings, it certainly isn't true when the card is overclocked:

If you want to take the Radeon R9 290X to its limits, then you need to push it hard by increasing its power limit and dropping the target temperature. Under those conditions, it's possible to exceed 300 W. We even saw 335 W from the card, though that's probably not at all something you want to reproduce.

I agree, CX series is many tiers lower than what the OP has. However, CX600 is still rated for 522W on the 12v rail which should have been sufficient for my GPU setup. I have no doubts that OP's PSU is capable of possibly even exceeding the rated wattage output. If so, then he will not notice any problems right away. However, it can't be good in the long run.
